Bad weather in 2013, rainy harvest, very bad press: the 2013 vintage was going to be very complicated!
Fortunately, Nature always does it right! Now that the winemaking is complete and the ageing period has started, this vintage keeps us amazed tasting after tasting. A little green and acid at first due to early harvest (too much water has helped rots to develop early on some berries, hence the need to harvest everything very quickly: ripe Merlot and young Cabernet), it is now well balanced.
With the final blend before maturing, the wine reveals more complexity than expected: the ripe Merlot provide an aromatic bouquet, the roundness and the finesse needed. As for the Cabernets, they bring a tannic structure, rounded by the beautiful Merlot. Thus, a dense and rich wine on the palate, on the fruit with a touch of acidity balanced by fine and round tannins.
